Start Time:

SP Manweb is proposing to build a new 132,000 Volt electrical circuit from Oswestry substation, located at the A5/A495 roundabout, to Wem substation, located on Ellesmere Road on the western side of Wem. The proposed development will provide much needed additional capacity to the local electricity network in North Shropshire.

Click on this newsletter Project Update Four  to find out more, including dates a series of events throughout the proposed development area during the consultation where people can find out more information, see what the proposed development could look like and ask our team questions.

SP Manweb is consulting on the proposed development from 23 November 2017 to 2 February 2018 and all feedback must be received during this time. This is a statutory consultation as required by the Planning Act 2008. This is likely to be the last consultation on the whole proposed development prior to submission of the application for a Development Consent Order to the Secretary of State (via the Planning Inspectorate) and so we would encourage you to take part.

SP Manweb plc is part of SP Energy Networks which owns the regulated electricity network businesses SP Manweb, SP Distribution and SP Transmission. SP Manweb is the licensed electricity Distribution Network Operator (DNO) which owns and manages the electricity distribution network within Cheshire, Merseyside, North Shropshire and North Wales. It is the named applicant for this proposed development.

Sainsburys Live well

Friendly Hour at Sainbury’s (Telford Forge Store) 9.30 am-10.30 am on 6th December 2017

Earlier this month, Sandra and Margaret PR Ambassadors at Sainsbury’s Telford Forge store, with support from the Store Manager launched a special time in store called “Friendly Hour”.

The next “Friendly Hour” will next take place on Monday 6th December and on the first Monday of each month (except for January 2018) from 9.30 am to 10.30 am. Anyone who would appreciate a quieter time to shop may like to take up this opportunity.  While lights can not be dimmed, there will be no tannoy announcements and no music. It will be quieter with No roll cages on shop floor to cause noise.

Ruby, SDN Chair said “We know people with Dementia, or with Autism Spectrum as well as those who need help from Carers, often appreciate quieter times to shop. We are pleased to be able to promote Friendly Hour at Sainsbury’s Telford Forge Store”

Note: This is an initiative by the PR Ambassadors at this particular store and is not available at other stores. Watch this space for more information.
