Crime Prevention -in your home.

The stress and emotional anxiety of suffering a burglary can go beyond the loss of your personal possessions. It can represent an invasion of privacy in the one place that everyone has the right to feel safe – your home. Whether we have a disability or long term condition or not, unfortunately no one is exempt from being burgled but there are ways to deter people and should you be victim of a burglary, that will help in identifying stolen property if found.

Marking your property is a positive way to fight crime, it can act as a deterrent, it allows you to prove ownership and helps you to identify your property easily if it is offered for sale. Marking your property also provides a means for the police to identify stolen goods and return them to their owners.

There are a number of ways to mark your property including utilising visible markers such as permanent marker pens, waterproof paint, stencils, engraving and specialised overt marking kits which are available on the market. these all help with traceability of your valuables,  SmartWater® offers the unique combination of cutting-edge Dab-it-On forensic marking technology and the UK’s most powerful crime deterrent.

You can also use invisible markers such as UV pens or specialised forensic kits such as Smartwater.

Smartwater is currently working in partnership with West Mercia Police and is providing it on offer for residents to purchase a standard home marking kit for a discounted price of £19.95.

Any residents wishing to purchase Smartwater at this reduced price can do so by calling Smartwater on 0333 320 7797 and quoting “WDBCRIME25″.

Future Fit Consultation Extended by a Week

The public consultation into improving hospital services provided at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in Shrewsbury and the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford has been extended by one week until Tuesday 11 September 2018.

The recommendation for the extension was made at the Future Fit Programme Board on 24 July and was approved by the CCGs’ accountable officers.

The recommendation to extend the consultation was made for three reasons:

  • the availability of new information in a Northumbria Comparator report
  • the availability of the Pre-Consultation Engagement Report, which consolidates previously available information, and
  • to allow sufficient time for visitors to the additional public events, scheduled following discussion with members of the public during the first half of the consultation, to respond to the consultation. The last public event is now scheduled for 30 August 2018.
