Great news- On 6th October, Jess’s Gang completed the longest Zip Wire in Europe taking on the challenge Jess set for this year.

We are appreciate all that Jess is doing for McIntyre Care, Guide Dogs and for us at Shropshire Disability Network. The target to raise £1500 is almost there, as donations are being collected in. Flu Fighter

The Importance of having your Flu Jab

It is that time of year, when we all need to go for our flu jabs. In the link below you will be able to access the ” Flu Fighter Social Care Guide.” It gives valuable information not only to professionals but to all of us. It tells us why we should have the flu jab. It also dispels the many myths about the flu jab ie it is only old people that get flu…the flu vaccine gives you flu…you must avoid other people after you have the flu jab as you will be infectious.

Download the Flu Fighter Social Care Guide and other information at this link http://www.spic.co.uk/downloads/cat_view/32-infection-prevention-a-control/412-flu-fighter-social-care

How 3 became 4. An update on Jess’s Gang -Titan Challenge.

Last month we brought a news article about 3 Muskebears, 22 Brave Volunteers, raising funds for 3 Charities! Now we bring you news of how 3 became 4, together with information on how you can support Jess’s Gang-The Titan Challenge.

Those of you who know our Secretary, Ann Shaw, will know she has made it her mission to ‘rescue’ teddy bears.  She scours charity shops searching out the unloved bears who have been given away and offers them a new home in the ‘Bear Pit’.

The story began with Murphy, who was sitting on her chest when she woke up from an operation in 2012.  He is named after the surgeon who did the operation.  Happily, Murphy acquired a brother in March this year.  Alf is the spitting image of his brother.

Murphy and Alf have a very good friend who lives in Bromsgrove.  He is Cuddles, Jess Hiles’ constant companion.

All three are very excited to be involved in the Titan Zip Wire Challenge on 6th October.

On a recent visit to the Barnardo’s Charity Shop in Market Drayton, Ann came across a very sad looking bear, calling out to be rescued.  When she brought Maude home, Alf and Murphy persuaded her to join their adventure in North Wales.

So, the Three Muskebears are now the Four Muskebears.  Cuddles will be in purple for MacIntyre, Alf will wear blue for Guide Dogs and Murphy will be in cerise for SDN. Maude will be wearing orange for Safe Places Shropshire.
