Sight Opportunity Groups (SLOGs) Activities-May 2019

All sessions are FREE unless otherwise stated.

Oswestry Group meets on Wednesday 1st May 10 am to 12 noon at Oswestry Library, 9 Arthur Street, Oswestry SY11 1JN

We will be joined in May by Tom, from OsNosh, Oswestry’s Community Kitchen. The aim is to cook free community meals for everyone who is hungry, struggling or just in need of some company, using food that would otherwise be wasted.” You can find them at Holy Trinity Church in Oswestry every Thursday from 12.30 pm.

Ludlow Group meets on Monday 13th May 10.30 am -12.30 pm at St Peter’s Church Hall, Henley Road, Ludlow, SY8 1QZ

We will be joined by West Mercia Police, for a Home and Personal Safety talk. Most people already take simple precautions as part of their everyday lives without realising it. Staying safe is all about anticipating potential problems by listening and being aware of what and who’s around you, and knowing what action to take to stay out of danger.

Shrewsbury group meets on Monday 20th May 2 pm-4 pm at The Lion Hotel, Wyle Cop, Shrewsbury SY1 1UY

We are meeting at the Lion Hotel and will be having a visit from a few guests from Exotic Zoo. Many physiological and psychological benefits have been proven from the study of the human-companion animal bond. From past experience with our other groups this has proved to be a great success.  Apart from the group members finding it educational they were thrilled in being able to handle the animals whilst listening to the history behind them.
