Shrewsbury NHS Trust 250-253

Ophthalmology Survey-Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin

Have you used or are you using Ophthalmology services in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin? If so, would you please help Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust by taking part in their survey?

Why? The Ophthalmology Team is striving to ensure patients receive appointments in line with clinically recommended waiting times. Ophthalmology currently provides services from 3 main sites; Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Princess Royal Hospital and Euston House in Telford. They are seeking your guidance on how to configure future Ophthalmology services at the Trust and would be grateful if you could complete the short questionnaire.

This is a link to the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/1810EyeCare

Alternative ways to take part in the survey: They will also be carrying out face-to-face surveying in the Eye clinics, and paper copies of the survey will be available at reception in each clinic.

For more information or if you require paper copies of the survey to be sent out, please contact Kate Ballinger, Community Engagement Facilitator, Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals, 01743 492390 or by email [email protected]

Purple Tuesday, 13th November 2018

Purple Tuesday, what is it all about?

Purple Tuesday is the UK’s first accessible shopping day, established to recognise the importance and needs of disabled consumers and promote inclusive shopping. It is taking place on Tuesday 13th November 2018.

Purple Tuesday is being co-ordinated by disability organisation Purple, with the endorsement of the Department for Work and Pensions and support from a steering group of Purple Tuesday launch partners.

Participants as well as endorsing and promoting Purple Tuesday, every participant must make at least one long-term commitment aimed at improving the experience for their disabled customers going forward.

The exact nature of the commitment is up to each individual business, depending on their specific resources and needs. However, examples include introducing regular ‘quiet hours’ for those with sensory issues, improving store way finding, or introducing more inclusive marketing and product photography.

To find out who is supporting Purple Tuesday click this link:  https://purpletuesday.org.uk/founding-supporters/

Shropshire Disability Network have been contacted by Sandra and Marg, Community Ambassadors at Sainsbury’s Telford Forge Retail Park to say ALL Sainsbury’s stores will be participating in Purple Tuesday.
